Good Times Pay
Introduction
Good Times Pay is a video poker variant I noticed at the Suncoast casino on February 20, 2009. It is an optional feature added to a standard triple-play game. For five coins bet per hand, the game plays like conventional triple-play video poker. However, if the player bets an additional 1 to 5 coins, then he will enable random multipliers to apply to each hand. Three multipliers will be chosen from a field of 30, one applied to each hand. It seems that every game I looked at had a distribution of multipliers as follows.
Good Times Pay
Multiplier | 6 Coins Bet | 7 Coins Bet | 8 Coins Bet | 9 Coins Bet | 10 Coins Bet |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
7 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 |
6 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 |
5 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
4 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
3 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
2 | 4 | 7 | 7 | 10 | 10 |
1 | 25 | 21 | 19 | 16 | 15 |
Average | 1.2 | 1.4 | 1.6 | 1.8 | 2 |
The weighted average of these multipliers is always the fair cost.
So to get the optimal strategy return of any pay table, just look it up in my many video poker pages. Games I know of that are offered in Good Times Pay are:- Jacks or Better
- Bonus Poker
- Bonus Poker Deluxe
- Double Bonus
- Double Double Bonus
- Triple Double Bonus
- Deuces Wild
- Bonus Deuces
- Joker Poker
