Introduction

Liberty Slots opened its doors in 2011, shortly after the former casino English Harbour ceased operations. The casino is powered by WGS Technology (formerly Vegas Technology, formerly Odds On), which provides a nice selection of games. The casino has become a respected operator in its short time online, as it has a nice tournament system and good service, but has also been chided for not being licensed and having low weekly withdrawal limits.

Our sister site can shed some light on this casino, as they had an interview with a rep.

Software Providers

Liberty Slots is powered by Arrows Edge, NextGen, Wager Gaming, Dragon Gaming and Dragoon Soft, which powers the casino’s table games, slots, video poker, and other games.

Most of Liberty Slots’ gaming library is composed of slot machines, which run the gamut from traditional 3-reel games all the way up to modern 5 reel games that incorporate a series of entertaining features. These games are complimented by a few progressive jackpots that can pay out big wins if players hit the winning combination.

Topping off the slots are Liberty Slots’ tournaments, which are made up of daily and weekly competitions wherein players can win anywhere from $100 to $5,000 plus the pot.

Arrow’s Edge

Arrow’s Edge games were first seen at sites like Drake and Gossip Slots in 2014 and have since been picked up by other, mostly US-facing online gambling sites. When the catalog first opened the vast majority of the games were re-purposed NextGen slots with added progressive jackpot elements.

If “re-purposed” sounds sketchy, it’s probably not. Many of the slots have been available since the earliest days of online gambling with different configurations provided to various casinos and groups. Back in the day, you might have found NextGen’s “Dr. Love” and other titles marketed as Cryptologic, Playtech, PartyGaming, OddsOn, or Vegas Tech slots and more recently as WGS (Wager Gaming) and then Arrow’s Edge.

Each “label” licensed a slightly different version of the games. Wherein one may have 9 lines, the same slot on another platform might have 20 lines. With all of that, it’s not really surprising at all to see a developer add a jackpot enhancement to a game or even in the case of Arrow’s Edge, revamp the artwork. Metropolis is a good case in point.

Before becoming more widely distributed the company began to develop a good variety of additional games with their own vibes and signatures, greatly diversifying the catalog. Many of the new games are top tier. Their intricate bonus mechanics and themes were truly avant-garde and groundbreaking. Time Bender is one game that was ahead of the curve.

The Arrow’s Edge website bears the NMi test labs seal and Liberty Slots’ RNG and software are audited and certified monthly by Certified Fair Gambling - a company founded by Wizard himself and later sold to Eliot Jacobson PH.D. and now in the able hands of Charles R. Mousseau at Total Gaming Science.

Dragoon Soft

The table games here and most likely the video poker are provided by Dragoon Soft, according to an earlier version of this review. The company started as an Asian-centric provider of slots, number games, fishing and hunting games, etc., and eventually developed table games for players in the West as well. Company statistics still place over 70% of the developer’s gameplay in Asia with 12% played from America and the scant balance split between Europe and Africa.

Look for American Roulette, Atlantic City Blackjack, Classic Blackjack, Doouble Dragon Roulette (win up to 500x and yes, the title has a funny spelling for “double”), Downtown Vegas Blackjack, European Roulette, Perfect Pairs, Vegas Single Deck, and Vegas Strip Blackjack in the Table Games section.

The company was originally launched in China in 2018 according to a report on World Casino Directory. While there is not a lot of background on the company that is almost always the case with Asian developers whose business models simply don’t demand much transparency. The company’s games are purportedly certified by Gambling Labs International, and of course, the casino RNG and software are audited monthly by Certified Fair Gaming.

Blackjack

The collection is small but good. The rules are decent and easy enough to run through any of the Wizard’s blackjack calculators and strategy makers. The Single Deck game doesn’t show all of the rules so you’ll need to run through a few hands in demo mode to come up with the odds and RTP before applying a strategy. The rules it does show are the standard Blackjack pays 3 to 2, Dealer hits on soft 17, and insurance pays 3 to 1. Additionally, you can double on 9, 10, or 11 counts and split pairs once.

Tournaments

While the generosity of unlimited free tournament play has been rolled back in recent years - you have to deposit now and then to get access to the freerolls - they are still an attractive component with daily and weekly competitions wherein players can win anywhere from $100 to $5,000 plus the pot.

A lady who won almost $20,000 from a $0.03 bet at Liberty Slots got her session stake from a free tournament, played a “must hit by $x amount” 3 reel slot, and took down $19,429.51 in cash.

Tournaments are not restricted to slots with plenty of other competitions on offer. One thing to note, however, is that they allow “re-buys” so when you’ve spent your purse or your hands/spins you might need to spend $1 tor $5 to get another tranche of gas and protect your spot on the leaderboard.

Many of the contests award points but others pay out in cash - usually $100 to $300 for the pot.

Terms and Conditions, Banking

Players in the US and Australia are more accustomed to the time frames needed to get paid here, but all real players who follow the rules are paid like clockwork. In many ways, the business model is stuck in day one time. There’s really no reason in any market to not pay withdrawals within a day or two in the regular course of business.

Here, you might find pending time of up to 5 business days with BTC paid out within 48 hours but checks taking 5 business days and some wire transfers not clearing for up to 15 business days. Some players simply won’t sit on their hands for that long and if you are one who is prone to playback winnings rather than wait a relatively long time to get those winnings into your hot little hands, there might be better places for you to play or you might want to consider only depositing with something like Lightning Bitcoin.

Slots

Comp Point Program

Liberty Slots offers a multi-tiered comp program to their customers, which starts at Amber and progresses to Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Every $100 in wagers generates a certain number in comp points, which goes up with each status level you attain. 1,000 points can be redeemed for $1.00 in real play. Players must bet at least $25 at the casino before they are eligible for comp points.

Licence Information

Liberty Slots does not appear to be licensed or regulated by any jurisdiction, which is a big concern for many and puts us in a strange position. With nearly a decade and a half of fair play, the games being audited monthly by a company the Wizard founded, and the certain knowledge that they must be licensed somewhere yet choose not to divulge proprietary information we have to bypass our regular stringent warning about not playing at any “unlicensed” casino. We’ll discuss that in a little more detail below.

Countries not supported

Liberty Slots Casino does not accept players from the following countries: Alberta, Antigua and Barbuda, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, British Columbia, Canada, Delaware, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Kentucky, Louisiana, Manitoba, Martinique, Maryland, Mayotte, Missouri, Netherlands, New Brunswick, New Caledonia, New Jersey, New York, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Reunion, Russia, Saskatchewan, Serbia, United Kingdom, Wallis and Futuna, Washington and Yukon Territory.

Other Products

In addition to table games, video poker, and slots, Liberty Slots offers its players keno and specialty games such as Poker Dice, Dazzling Dice, Bingo Bucks, and Poker Slots.

Slots

3 Reel Slots

Nearly all of the 3-reel games are labeled as highly volatile with less than a handful clocking in as medium to medium-high volatility. All the slot icons provide more information when you hover over them. The volatility index; progressive jackpot amount if any, number of paylines, and whether or not there is a bonus game is the data available at a glance.

You’ll also find a Demo option even if you haven’t logged in yet. Most progressive jackpot games don’t offer a demo or free play option though. Some of these games can have intricate rules such as only awarding the bonus round when a certain number of coins are staked. Jackpot awards can also be conditional.

Look for a flag on some of the games stating if the title is new, is a featured game, has enhanced comp points such as 2x, etc.

Be sure to check the pay tables, rules, and current jackpot amount on games like 7x Lucky Sevens. These games are “must hit by” jackpot games and the closer the jackpot gets to the absolutely must trigger point, the better your chances of winning the big prize. You’ll find many discussions on the Wizard of Vegas forums about this type of machine on land and the online games seem to work off the same principle.

If you find the “must win by” concept intriguing, RTG offers a progressive game called Spirit of the Inca. That title, available at Liberty Slots’ sister site Play Croco, has five separate progressive jackpots on the must-hit-by model which they call “boiling point jackpots”. If you are a jackpot hunter, you can find the current values like Spirit of the Inca mini-jackpot here. One more quick note on this game. The “mini” must go off by $100,000 and it is the smallest of the jackpots. With each increase of coin-in (1-5 coins of $0.50 each), you are granted access to another tier but are still eligible for the lower jackets. Betting $2.50 per spin gives you access to all five jackpots.

To further illustrate the potential value of the seemingly simple 3 Reel games at Liberty Slots Casino, an article from LCB talks about a player from Pennsylvania who turned a 3-cent bet into a win of nearly $20,000 while playing 7x Lucky Sevens.

Video Slots

The selection here is pretty impressive and aside from other WGS sites, completely unique. Operators appear to be able to create their own aggregate packages as we don’t find any of the Genesis Gaming slots here like the first 243 ways to pay game on the internet, Grail Maiden yet it is still on the roster of at least one other Wager Gaming site outside the group.

As you come to know the slots you’ll make mental notes about games that seem or feel similar. At that point, you’ll be able to satisfy a craving for a certain gameplay vibe simply by jumping around from game to game in your own mentally curated collection. Players who like to compartmentalize games will need to do this since there are basically no advanced filtering and sorting tools and the software doesn’t even tell you who the developer is for many games. Only some splash screens announce it while the game is loading, the URL doesn’t provide a clue, and none of the paytables give a solid clue such as trademark or copyright.

Some of the games that don’t present as Wager Gaming but are not found on any other platform are most likely bespoke titles created for the platform provider. Cash Cow and Amanda Panda and the Jackpot Journey are two that come to mind quickly. The games are nothing alike in any way shape or form and obviously came from different labs and studios. And that’s okay… you’ll get a feel for some of the games that do have common elements and be able to navigate intuitively to the type of vibe you are seeking. It’s a singular experience compared to the database-driven navigation that most providers rely on nowadays.

Returning to the slot icon data that appears when you hover over a game title in the slot lobby, you’ll be able to select games based not only on the way they look, or the jackpot amount but by volatility as well. If you like a lot of bells and whistles action along with frequent smaller wins the low volatility-index games will be for you. There’s a Goldie Locks zone on the spectrum too with medium games providing a mix of occasional mid to large wins and a lot of what Aussies might describe losses disguised as wins as - spins that return less than your stake but also provide win celebrations. And on the far end of the scale are the highly volatile games. Most of the games here are high variance. When you win you are likely to win big on these games.

Search for interesting combinations of risk and potential reward. For instance, Back to the 60s slot is a hyper low variance game with a twist - the Arrow's Edge jackpot mechanic is bolted on so while, on average, you'll be getting most of your stake back with many spins for long gambling session, you will also be in the running for three progressive jackpots. Unfortunately, we can’t be positive that the purported RTP is 95.03% because we haven’t seen the simulations or the maths. However, the combination of a game with relatively high RTP, low volatility, and random progressive jackpots sounds on the surface like a recipe to win big on a lucky day.

The minimum bet is $0.25 and the max stake per spin is $250. The line count is fixed at 25 lines. There is also a bonus buy game that lets you stake 7x your current bet to buy a colossal respin with the three central reels filled with a single symbol.

Player Issues

There are currently no known player issues related to how Liberty Slots conducts its gaming operations. In preparing this updated review for the mid-2020s we spent several hours sleuthing the forums, bulletin boards, and review sites for any indication that this “good dog” has broken bad. It hasn’t. We find hundreds of comments and pseudo-complaints about not getting enough free stuff or players who were disappointed when the free tournaments were risk-limited against potential exploitation by less-than-serious players. We don’t find any predatory now or in the past that would in or ethically challenged behavior.

Don't put your money into Liberty Slots. Idk how they are even allowed to be on this site. They're blacklisted in so many places. They are horrible at paying out. They use dirty scam type tactics when you put it in the withdraw request.

Personal experience is they are shady. I won fairly large ($600) on a small deposit ($5 lightning bitcoin).

Personal experience is they are shady. I won fairly large ($600) on a small deposit ($5 lightning bitcoin). However the verification process is bullshit, they stalled and stalled saying one document wasn't readable or they can't accept Capital One as a bank statement (they have full banking services despite being known for credit cards) To this day I still haven't been verified and it's been weeks

Liberty, Lincoln, Miami Club and even Red Stag used to b my favorite places to play. But all 4 of em have been in a steady decline IMO. All em have really good support staff. And that's about where it ended for me after playing at all of em for yrs. A few yrs back they updated their games and the sites.
