Bonus Wheel
Introduction
Bonus Wheel is a side bet in a form of quadruple zero roulette. It was seen on an electronic form of roulette in August, 2025. This is the first known placement of a quadruple-zero roulette game in the United States, as far as I know.

Instead of zeroes, the game has four slots depicting different color gems. If the ball lands in any gem, then the win will be determined by a secondary wheel. The secondary wheel has wins as follows. Wins are on a "for one" basis, meaning the original bet is not returned. The "count" column shows how many spaces on the wheel for each win.
| Win | Count |
|---|---|
| 500 | 1 |
| 200 | 1 |
| 100 | 2 |
| 50 | 4 |
| 40 | 6 |
| 10 | 6 |
| 5 | 8 |
| 1 | 12 |
| Total | 40 |
The next table shows the probability and contribution to the average win of the Bonus Wheel. The lower right cell shows an average win of 36.3 for one.
| Win | Count | Probability | Return |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 | 1 | 0.025 | 12.500 |
| 200 | 1 | 0.025 | 5.000 |
| 100 | 2 | 0.050 | 5.000 |
| 50 | 4 | 0.100 | 5.000 |
| 40 | 6 | 0.150 | 6.000 |
| 10 | 6 | 0.150 | 1.500 |
| 5 | 8 | 0.200 | 1.000 |
| 1 | 12 | 0.300 | 0.300 |
| Total | 40 | 1.000 | 36.300 |
Note the average win of 36.3 is an improvement compared to the 36 for 1 (or 35 to 1) for a bet on an individual number.
The following table shows the overall value of the gem bets. Wins are expressed on a "for one" basis. Remember, the ball must land in the chosen gem to win.
| Event | Count | Probability | Return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Win | 1 | 0.025000 | 0.907500 |
| Loss | 39 | 0.975000 | 0.000000 |
| Total | 40 | 1.000000 | 0.907500 |
The lower right cell shows an expected return of 90.75%. That equates to a house edge of 9.25%. That is a little better than the house edge of 10% on every other bet in quadruple-zero roulette.
