South Koreans are in the unenviable position of hosting some of the nicest casinos on earth but only being able to play at one venue without showing a foreign passport. Kangwon Land sees well over two million visits per year and more than half of the footfall comes from South Koreans with the balance being foreigners.
Online gambling is not permitted, regulated, or taxed. More than 14% of the adult population gambles online, according to Statista with a projection of over 10 million, or 20% penetration soon.
According to the Asian Racing Federation, residents do not have an obstacle-free path to sign up and play with offshore gambling operators that are licensed in other countries. The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) is required by law to block illegal gambling sites, but players obviously find their way around such restrictions. VPNs are legal to use in South Korea.
In the absence of a unified international gambling regulation protocol, players are mostly on their own when it comes to choosing an online gaming venue and thousands of them, whether licensed or not are willing to accept South Korean players. Some provide banking in the local currency, and all of them have methods available for deposits and withdrawals - many support cryptocurrency banking.
Play to win real money without risking funds…
One way South Koreans can explore new online platforms and casino groups is to seek out what are known as No Deposit Bonuses (NDB). We provide codes for NDBs from a good variety of trusted operators. Our list only shows codes that can be used by South Koreans.
By using our pre-filtered and user-configurable database you can go to an online casino that will accept your business, open an account, claim the No Deposit Bonus code and the operator will either award you with a set number of free spins on a slot machine or a predetermined bonus cash balance to play with so you can win real money and cash it out.
Of course, the operators don’t just do this out of the goodness of their hearts and they can’t afford to simply be any player’s personal ATM. They offer bonuses as a way to make an introduction in an attempt to earn your business as a long-term customer.
Collecting money from NDBs doesn’t happen by simply claiming a code, spinning the slot a few times, and collecting your winnings. You’ll have to meet certain terms and conditions - some are like guardrails that are very easy to stay between (only play slots, for example) and others will take some effort, such as meeting a wagering requirement. With all that being said, you still won’t put your funds at risk to participate and you do stand a chance to cash out on every offer you claim.
The operative word is ‘chance”. Even if you do everything else right - luck, chance, fortune, or simply the maths will stand between you and a win most times. But you will win some - perhaps on your first try, perhaps on your third, or maybe even your tenth when Lady Luck decides to smile.
So, we can see that these “welcome gifts” come with some strings attached. In this case, they are terms and conditions or T&C. The T&C are rules to play by. Among other things, the T&C will dictate which games you can play, how many times you’ll have to roll over the bonus funds (put them at risk x# of times), and how much you can cash out after completing the offer.
In this article we will take a closer look at some of the General T&C you’ll need to be familiar with, but we’ll mainly focus on bonus-specific terms as each offer will come with its own promotional T&C.

The Wizard of Odds for all gambling-related things - online or on land. You'll find a South Korean menu near the top of this page by hovering or clicking and it is jam-packed with information every gambler needs to be successful. Our site has been online for decades and over time we have established a vast amount of knowledge beyond our own by partnering with other websites.
Between all of the sites combined, you’ll find more than 2,000 casino reviews, information on every aspect of gambling online and off, direct access to over 400 online casino representatives that can help you solve any problem you might encounter, and hundreds of active bonuses from NDB’s, welcome packages, cashback offers, tournament play, and everything else you could imagine.
While most offers you find here will only be available for slot play, others will let you try other games. When that’s the case, we usually mention it in the listing and the operator will always make a note of it in the official T&C. The most common games to be allowed along with slots with NDBs are scratchcards and keno.

We have developed tools to help players in South Korea find precisely the type of bonus they are looking for. Visit our NDB Codes database to find pre-filtered and pre-sorted no deposit offers when you want to play with bonus funds and cash out real money.
Players simply looking for a few slots to spin in the hopes of bringing home a small cashout can get as much use out of the tools as the player who is looking for the easiest terms to meet and the highest possible cashouts. The default settings will serve all players just as well but we also provide enough possible customization for you to craft a list of code offers that is all your own.
We’ve started the process for you…
…we’ve prefiltered the list to only display offers for players in your country. If you are using a VPN or other masking tech that makes it appear as if you are not in South Korea, you will need to reset the filters by choosing “South Korea” from the dropdown list of countries.
Use the default settings or manually configure the database tool to provide NDB codes for players in your country. In no time, you will be playing real money gambling games with “someone else’s money” with the possibility of cashing out your winnings when you complete the offer.
Whether you use the filtering tools provided to curate your own list of codes or if you simply use the list as presented, you can easily assess each offer and decide which ones are most fitting to your own personal preferences.
When you first visit the list you will see what we consider the best offers. We arrive at the ranking through data and decades of experience in the industry. Of course, we don’t know exactly what you are after, so the filtering and sorting tools will help you create a range of choices.
How the codes are presented…
The offers are presented in boxes in a "card" format. The box contains a variety of details to provide you as a player with all of the information you need to shop for the offers that interest you the most.
What's inside the box:
The casino making the offer
An info icon (i). Hover over or select the icon to see important T&Cs
The NDB, usually in the form of spins or bonus funds
The Code. If you want to take advantage of the offer, click to copy
Wagering requirements
Expiry
The most you can cash out
Kudos and raspberries from other participants (thumbs)
A “share” icon for social media
Comments (usually by staff but sometimes other players comment)
A Claim button (please ensure that you have copied or otherwise saved the code)
A link to visit our review of the casino
We suggest visiting the review page unless you are familiar with the gaming house. The reasons are manifold but even without reading the body of the review, you can learn several useful things about the online property.
Topline data includes where it is licensed, how long it takes to cash out, who provides the games, and comments from other players as well as our rating, ratings from players at other trusted portals, an average rating, and an opportunity to rate the gambling hub yourself. Toward the bottom of the page, you will find accepted banking methods and whether or not the casino has earned the Wizard’s Seal.
What you can expect from No Deposit Bonuses
The first thing you might notice about the offers is that none of them are ultimately worth more than a couple of hundred dollars. While you won’t need to put funds at risk to beat a bonus and cash out, you will need to spend time not only in learning how online casinos work if you are not familiar with the processes but also simply completing the offers. It takes time to roll the funds over the specified number of times to meet the wagering requirements.
As long as you know that it takes effort to eventually withdraw real money from one of these offers, and you accept that you will probably not be successful with most of them, you can manage your expectations and not experience undue disappointment. A focus on the fun of the games and the possibility of a cash out can be quite entertaining and lead to a happier experience overall.
You might succeed in meeting the bonus terms on your first attempt. It is as likely as cashing out on the 3rd, 5th, or 10th try. Some players will take the funds and deposit them again, with or without a bonus - some will win and some will lose as that is the nature of gambling. However, since you will be playing with “found money”, you may play a little less conservatively and take chances you might normally avoid. While the funds are likely to be lost quicker that way, a good win on a highly volatile game or simply with an increased bet size could change your career gambling trajectory to the positive for some time to come.
Alternatively, it might put you at a net win for your lifetime gambling “career” and you can cash out as an overall winner, beating the odds and staking your claim to fame in a very small club - players who did not help build Bellagio or Kangwon Land.
Types of No Deposit Bonuses
While there are many possible ways to recruit new players by giving them a chance to win real money without risking their own funds, two primary types of NDBs have risen to the top. These are no deposit bonus funds (free chips) and no-cost spins (free spins).
We’ll take a quick look at two other types of NDBs below, but these don’t usually require a code, they are not as commonly available to new customers, and they may be software/platform specific - freeroll tournaments and free playtime.
All NDBs (as opposed to VIP perks and other gifts given to rated players), come with wagering requirements. You’ll need to expose the initial bankroll to the house advantage a given number of times before any winnings can be cashed out.
Casino Spins
Whether it is a matter of thinning the herd or simply adding another layer of entertainment to the offers, many operators will give players a few spins on a slot. Completing this part of the offer is as easy as hitting the spin button once for each allotted spin. At the end of the spins you should have a balance of bonus funds, your ‘winnings’ from the offer. However, that os only the first step in the process. They have given you a chance to create a random value rather than awarding a specific value such as $25, $50, etc. The result of your spins will become your bonus funds.
The most direct way to award a bonus balance is through…
Bonus Funds (a free chip)
When you choose this type of NDB you will be awarded a set amount of funds rather than a random amount arrived at through slot spins. However, both balances are usually treated the same way at this point. The funds will have bonus terms and conditions attached that you must satisfy before you can take any winnings out of the cashier.
Free Playtime
Free playtime bonuses usually convert into a deposit bonus but they can be offered without the requirement to risk funds. In this case, the player will be given a certain amount of time and a small budget with the opportunity to “win as much as they can”. These are usually found at Rival Powered casinos. Each operator has very specific terms and conditions that go along with these offers and those T&Cs are always spelled out clearly. Again they almost always convert into a deposit match so at the point of completion it is no longer a true NDB.
Free tournaments
The other type of offer is freeroll tournaments. If the operator offers tournaments they are not usually promoted as NDBs, but they can be. In this case, new and returning players can enter the casino’s tournament lobby and claim participation. Many times “rebuys” will be available, but the initial offering has no upfront cost, hence the term “freeroll”. These are often offered by RTG operators but you may have to download the desktop client to enter one. The other most prevalent platform provider for these games is Wager Gaming.
Top-tier finishers in freerolls are usually paid in bonus funds which must meet rollover/wagering requirements, but they can be paid in immediately cashable funds in some instances.
Terms and Conditions
In addition to the general T&C that governs all play at an online casino, bonuses come with their own set of terms and conditions that can modify the basic gambling contract in a few ways.
Before embarking on a NDB journey you must understand the terms or your time will be wasted. Violating or breaching any terms, even in the most innocent way, will void the bonus agreement and nullify any potential winnings.
Following are a few of the most important bonus T&C to be aware of:
Document verification (KYC or “know your customer” requirements)
Expiration date
Each bonus must be completed within a certain amount of time which will vary from offer to offer. This can be as brief as a few hours, it might be a few days, or it could be a week or more..
If the bonus expires you won’t be paid.
Allowed and restricted games
Play will be restricted to certain games in most cases. Slots are the most common game type but some offers will allow play on keno or scratch cards at full value. If blackjack, video poker, or other games are allowed they probably won’t count 100% toward the wagering requirements. Please see Game Weighting below for more information on bet contributions.
Any bet, even a single spin on a restricted game will void the bonus and cancel any winnings.
Maximum Bet
It is usually forbidden to re-bet a win on video poker or even a gambling game after a winning slot spin if the subsequent bet in aggregate with the initial wager exceeds the maximum bet limit. Fair or not, the rule is usually included, even if not explicitly stated. The same holds for buying a bonus even if each spin is staked at less than the maximum allowed bet.
Betting more than allowed on any spin, hand, or game round will forfeit the bonus and winnings.
All casino games have a built-in mathematical advantage favoring the casino, known as the house edge or house advantage. You must subject your starting bankroll to the game math a set number of times before any of the betting results become cash winnings you can withdraw. This is the primary way that the operator ensures that not all players or every attempt at beating the bonus will be successful.
When the wagering requirement (WR) is 40x and the bonus amount is $50, you have to make $2,000 (40 x $50) in wagers to “clear the bonus”.
Sometimes you will win and sometimes you won’t.
You must complete the wagering requirements with a balance to withdraw winnings.
Game Weighting
Almost all slot wagers will reduce the wagering requirement without a differential applied. That is to say that for every $1 you bet, the WR will be reduced by $1.
That’s not the case with other games, especially those involving skill such as blackjack. However, skill is not the only factor. More importantly, the house edge is much lower on blackjack whether you play a perfect game or not and the same can be said for video poker. You might execute a good strategy or even optimal strategy, but simply playing basic strategy will give the house a much smaller advantage than a slot game would, volatility notwithstanding.
Blackjack and video poker are usually weighted at 5% or 10% whereas slots are weighted at 100%.
When video poker is weighted at 10%, only $0.10 of every dollar wagered is removed from the remaining WR. When blackjack is weighted at 5% only $0.05 of every dollar bet reduces the wagering requirement.
If your slots WR is $2,000 (40 x $50, total wagering becomes 20x that with blackjack ($2,000/.05), or $40,000. Playing video poker would create a WR of $20,000 ($2,000/.10) or 10x the WR for slots.
Playing only slots might be a good bet.
Withdrawal limits
There will always be a minimum and maximum amount you can cash out from NDBs. The minimum is usually the same no matter how you win the money but the maximum cap is related directly to the bonus offer and will be spelled out in the bonus T&Cs and possibly in the general terms.
If the bonus is “non-cashable”, as in only winning from the initial funds can be cashed out, you will need to complete wagering with the original bonus amount plus the minimum cashout amount. If the bonus funds (free chip or result of free spins) were $50 and the max cashout was $50, you can only request a withdrawal if your bonus balance is $100 or more.
No deposit bonus winnings are limited by the T&C.
KYC - Document verification
Seasoned players will already know this, but all licensed online casinos are required by international law and their regulator or licensing authority to know exactly who they are giving money to. The mandate to them is to “Know Your Customer”. Between players and the operator, it can be known as KYC, but on the player side, we most often call it document verification. In a nutshell, you need to authenticate your identity and sometimes ownership of financial instruments such as debit or credit cards or even an eWallet.
Common documents to provide include a copy of your driver's license, passport, or another official identification document; proof of residency in the form of a utility bill or bank statement and, if they request a verification deposit, evidence that you are the owner of the credit or debit card that will be used for deposits and withdrawals.
The casino can’t pay out until your documents are verified.
Conclusion
Just like players anywhere else, online gamblers in South Korea should consider the upsides and downsides of claiming no deposit bonus codes before going in the whole hog. It takes vigilance and patience along with considerable effort to beat these bonuses. The good news is that gambling should be fun and the endeavor can be undertaken in that spirit - amusement with a chance to win a prize!
NDBs are a great way for the novice or beginning player to learn all about playing for real money at an online casino. It’s also a great way for anyone to try out new operators and platforms.
One of the limiting factors of the proposition is that it is rare to find NDBs that are ultimately worth more than a few hundred dollars and you’ll never find great wealth by beating a no-deposit bonus - at least not directly. It is, of course, possible to take your winnings and make a fresh deposit without a bonus and rid yourself of bothersome bonus terms completely. You could also deposit at the same casino or elsewhere with a juicy welcome package with better terms such as unlimited cashouts.
Whether you are a casual player or looking for the best way to bring home the most money for the least effort, we provide the tools and the codes to help you accomplish your goal.
