Introduction

FunFair Technologies is an online betting software developer that is based in the UK and puts out a series of games specifically for internet betting. The company claims to be using blockchain technology to help power their games, which they claim is efficient, fair, and fast for all parties involved. The company has also put out the fairness slogan “Provably Fair” (prove-ably fair, get it?), which lets players go in and look at the RNG results to prove that the games are fair.

FunFair’s games consist of table titles, slots, and some unique games that we haven’t seen before. The visual flare is there for the slots, but table games and video poker end up looking more or less like what you’d expect to see from other developers.

Things are definitely interesting in terms of what FunFair is trying to accomplish. Blockchain technology is just really starting to be implemented in new ways after years of being a buzzword. Seeing the technology working into gambling is interesting, and we’re very interested to see where Funfair takes things moving forward.

Fun Dice

Fun Dice is an interesting new game that is proprietary to FunGames, as far as I know. The player can pick a number from 100,000 to 890,000 and then bet if a random number from 0 to 999,999, as determined by the roll of six ten-sided dice, will be over or under. Video Poker

FunFair's only video poker game is a good choice, 9-6 Jacks or Better, which carries a high return of 99.54%. The graphics and sound are vintage 1980's. Why, I have no idea. I'd recommend they make another version that is more up to date.

Wheel of Fun

Wheel of Fun is a simple game involving a 24-number wheel and betting which one a spin will stop in. For all the rules and analysis, please see my page on Wheel of Fun.

Blackjack

Both blackjack games, regular and VIP, have the following rules:

• Eight decks
• Dealer stands on soft 17
• Blackjack pays 3 to 2
• Dealer peeks for blackjack
• Player may double on any two cards
• Double after split allowed
• Player may split once only
• No surrender

The house edge under these rules is 0.49%. The help file says 0.50%, which is close enough.

I'd like to give props to FunFair for letting the player split unlike tens, which should be allowed in every blackjack game, although the player should never do so. This is a sign of a rare software company that understands the proper rules of their games.

Baccarat

The FunFair baccarat game is down to basics, the Player, Banker and Tie bets only. The help file claims an infinite number of decks are used, but the returns quoted in the help file match those for a six-deck game. You will have to decide for yourself what to believe. Roulette

Roulette is played on a single-zero wheel, resulting in a house edge of 2.70% on every bet.

Three Card Poker

Three Card Poker nicely follows the liberal 1-4-5 Ante Bonus and the 1-4-6-30-40 Pairplus pay table. This results in a house edge as follows:

• Ante: 3.37%
• Pairplus: 2.32%

Caribbean Stud Poker

FunFair follows the usual 1-2-3-4-5-7-20-50-100 pay table in Caribbean Stud Poker, for a house edge of 5.22%. There is strangely no side bet, based on the player's hand only.

Let it Ride

FunFair follows the usual 1-2-3-5-8-11-50-200-1000 pay table in Let it Ride, for a house edge of 3.51%.

Slot machines

There were three slot machines at the time of this review in January 2019. All three were the usual five-reel type with three visible rows. Features included stacked symbols, free spins, and a "pick 'em" bonus. I liked the Castle Siege bonus in Fate of Thrones, which lobbed cannonballs at an enemy castle, kind of like Angry Pigs. The cannonball seemed to follow a correct parabolic trajectory, which is the kind of details I appreciate. Whoever designed it, I think knew something about physics.

All the games are nicely done in terms of graphics, sound, and game-play. I would definitely say above average for the industry. My advice would be to add more titles and be more creative in terms of the rules and bonuses.

Cho Han is a simple game based on the throw of two dice. There are four bets to choose from. Every bet has an expected return of 95%.

Pirate Dice

Pirate Dice is a simple game based on the throw of five poker dice. There is only one bet and no decision to be made. The player is paid based on the poker value of the five dice. The bottom line is an expected return of 96.45%. For more information, please see my page on Pirate Dice.

Hi Lo Max

Hi Lo Max is a simple game based on the predicting a card drawn from a 12-card deck. The highest the return gets is 96.67%. For all the rules and analysis, please see my page on Hi Low Max.

Great Cheese Heist

The Great Cheese Heist is a simple minefield kind of game. It involves a mouse navigating a minefield, laced with cheese and mousetraps. The more cheese the mouse finds, the more he wins. Decatron

Decatron is a simple "instant" game by Funfair Technologies. There is one bet only, which pays according to the poker value of a random number between 0 and 99999. The bottom line is a return of 97.05%. For all the rules and analysis, please see my page on Decatron.

Fun Mountain

Fun Mountain involves rolling a die to move a mining cart along three layers of tracks on a mountain. The rules are rather complicated, so forgive me if I don't fuss with the math. The help file says the expected return is 95.52%.

Electrobet

Electrobet is another unique game from FunFair. It is played on a circuit board where the current can take random directions when it reaches a fork. Forgive me if I don't try to figure out the details and take their word for it that the return to player is 93%.

Scratch Cards

FunFair has a couple of simple scratch card games. The help files say the return for both is 94%.

Derby Day Horses

Derby Day Horses is a basic "derby" style racing game. The game features eight horses and the classic three ways to bet -- win, place, and show. After doing the math, I find the return ranges from 96.7% to 96.9%. The help file claims a return of 97%.

Keno

FunFair calls their keno game Keno Kong. It follows the usual rules of a 20-ball draw out of 80 balls. The following table shows the pay table for 3 to 10 picks and the return for each.
