Introduction

Wheel of Fun is a simple wheel-based game. There are 24 spots on the wheel and the player may choose how many to bet on.

Rules

1. The game uses a wheel with 24 positions, numbered 1 to 24.
2. The player may choose how many numbers to bet on, from 4 to 20, in groups of 2.
3. Winning numbers will be highlighted on the wheel, according to the number chosen. The player may not pick the specific numbers.
4. The wheel will be spun and stop in one of the numbers.
5. If the wheel stops in one of the winning numbers, then the player wins according to the total of potential winning numbers, as follows:
   • 4 numbers -- 5.88 for 1
   • 6 numbers -- 3.92 for 1
   • 8 numbers -- 2.94 for 1
   • 10 numbers -- 2.35 for 1
   • 12 numbers -- 1.96 for 1
   • 14 numbers -- 1.68 for 1
   • 16 numbers -- 1.47 for 1
   • 20 numbers -- 1.18 for 1

Analysis

The following table shows the probability of winning and expected return by the number of winning numbers.

Strategy

I recommend picking 20 winnings numbers, where the expected return is at a maximum of 98.33%, if you must play at all.
