Red Tiger Gaming Software & 8 Online Casinos Reviewed

I first heard of Red Tiger Gaming software in 2017. I've never encountered their games before at an Internet casino but their games can be found and played at their corporate web site. From there I learned the company is out of the Isle of Man and even employs psychologists on their payroll. And I thought it was a myth that casinos hired psychologists to separate players from their money. Shows you what I know.

As of this writing (June 2017) Red Tiger offers 45 slots and three table games. You might think with all the emphasis on slots the table games would be shoddy. Not so. Everything with Red Tiger, slots and tables, is simply outstanding in terms of sound, graphics, and game play. The only significant thing I can fault them for is their thin selection of table games, consisting of baccarat, blackjack, and roulette.

I would like to offer my compliments to Red Tiger for an outstanding product. There were a few little things that bothered me, which I explain in the game details below. The emphasis is clearly on the artistry of the games but there are some places where the game rules or help files are little bit off.

Red Tiger Gaming was founded in 2014 and is based out of the Isle of Man. While a lot of newer betting software designers focus almost exclusively on slots, Red Tiger is going with a fully fleshed out casino experience that includes table games as well. The company has gaming licenses from areas like the United Kingdom and Isle of Man, and has signed conent deals with several large casinos like Paddy Power, PokerStars, Coral, Betsson, and more. This gives the group credibility, which is backed up by its excellent games, which are designed well and offer decent odds to players.

Mystery Fruit
Ra's Legend
Wild Wild Chest

Red Tiger Gaming does a very good job with their slots. The graphics and sound are on par with the best Internet slot makers like Playtech, BetSoft, and Microgaming. The bonuses are nothing too elaborate. The ones I saw were free spins with various features thrown in like exploding symbols (where a symbol is chosen randomly and then several of them are scattered over the screen) and wandering wilds (where if there are two wilds a path between them becomes entirely wild as well). I tend to think that many of the games are skins, or near skins, but they are entertaining nonetheless.

The returns are nicely disclosed at the end of the rules page. I checked six of them and they were all between 94.95% and 95.55%, as follows:

  • Elven Magic: 95.55%
  • Cinderella: 95.35%
  • Mystery Fruit: 95.22%
  • Ra's Legend: 95.02%
  • Wild Wild Chest: 95.00%
  • Temple of Gold: 94.95%

As a secondary independent source, our friends at Slot Tracker have crowd sourced their users to get an overall average of Red Tiger Gaming slots. Over 174,087 reported Red Tiger Gaming spins, as of the date of this writing, September 26, 2017, they report an overall return of 92.72%.

Red Tiger deals a fast crisp game of blackjack. Here are the details on the rules:

  • Three betting spots
  • Eight decks
  • Cards shuffled after every hand
  • Dealer stands on soft 17
  • Dealer peeks for blackjack with ace up only
  • Double on 9 to 11 only
  • Double after split allowed
  • Surrender not allowed
  • No re-splitting
  • No insurance offered on a player blackjack against an ace

Following is the basic strategy under these rules.

Contrary to the basic strategy in the help file and the advice given by "the book," you should hit an 11 against a 10. This is because the dealer doesn't peek for blackjack with a 10 up, so you stand to lose everything if the dealer gets a blackjack.

Assuming basic strategy, I get a house edge of 0.68%. You can find this figure using my blackjack house edge calculator, putting in the American "no peek" rule, which yields 0.58%, and then add 0.10%, because the dealer doesn't peek for blackjack with an ace up, an effect you can find in my effect of rule variations for blackjack.

The roulette game is nicely done. There is even a piano music in the background. The game is single-zero, which means a house edge of 1/37, or 2.70% on every bet, which equates to a player return of 98.30%.

Strangely, the help file lists slightly different return percentages for each bet. For example, the return for black is 97.30% but for red is 97.27%.

Baccarat is has a nice classy touch to it. The game uses six decks of cards, as opposed to the usual eight by land casinos. It doesn't make much difference mathematically. Here is the house edge to each bet:

  • Banker: 1.06%
  • Player: 1.24%
  • Tie: 14.44%
  • Player/Banker Pair: 11.25%

What I'm very impressed by is the full scoreboard, including the Big Eye Boy, Small Road, and Cockroach Pig. I don't think I've ever seen a proper baccarat scoreboard at an Internet casino before. My compliments.

Deal or No Deal Blackjack

Deal or No Deal Blackjack

Deal or No Deal Blackjack has a pretty decent set of blackjack rules, as follows:

  • Five decks are used.
  • Dealer stands on soft 17.
  • Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
  • Dealer peeks for blackjack, with both ten and ace up, before player plays his hand.
  • Double after split allowed.
  • Player may re-split any pair up to three times, except aces, which may be split once only.
  • No draw to split aces.

The house edge is 0.38%, which is quite good.

Be warned that the Banker Offers are only worth about 96% of the value of the hand, so I would decline them every time.

Red Tiger Gaming is one of the more impressive online gambling software developers in terms of presentation. Everything here looks top-notch, and the games themselves are excellent as well. Particular kudos goes to the group who developed the Baccarat scoreboard, and the slot games. If you get the chance to play Red Tiger’s games online, I highly recommend them.
