Introduction

The Status of the Arizona Cardinals Wide Receivers for NFL’s Week - 7

As we are now entering Week - 7 of the National Football League’s 2022 - 2023 regular season, the Arizona Cardinals group of wide receivers for their young and promising starting quarterback, Kyler Murray, to throw to continuously changes due to a variety of driving factors such as injuries, trades, and off the field issues.

Last weekend the Arizona Cardinals star wide out, Marquis “Hollywood” Brown, was injured, and in order for the Arizona Cardinals to fill his spot on the team roster they had to go out and acquire a new wide receiver through a trade with another NFL franchise.

Although “Hollywood” Brown will not have to miss the remainder of this NFL season he will be sidelined for a while so the Arizona Cardinals executed a trade with the Carolina Panthers in order for them to pick up the highly – talented wide receiver in Robbie Anderson.

Finally, the Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Kyler Murray will be getting back their best offensive weapon in their explosive and big play - maker in DeAndre Hopkins just in time for the Arizona Cardinals week - 7 match - up against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football. Hopkins just completed serving his 6 - game suspension that was handed down by the National Football League over the 2022 NFL offseason.

Marquis Brown

Last Sunday, October 16th, 2022 the Arizona Cardinals faced off against their NFC West divisional rivals in the Seattle Seahawks, and during the game Brown suffered a left foot injury.

Although this injury will luckily not end his 2022 - 2023 NFL season, “Hollywood” Brown will have to miss at least a month of game action at the wide receiver position for the Arizona Cardinals. There is no definite timeline for his return, and his left foot will continuously be reevaluated in order to determine when Marquis will be healthy enough to play again.

Marquis Brown’s Football Career Achievements, Honors, & Awards

  • First - Team All - American Selection (2018)
  • First - Team All - Big 12 Selection (2018)

Robbie Anderson

In hopes of replacing Brown the Arizona Cardinals acquired Robbie Anderson via a trade with the struggling Carolina Panthers for undisclosed draft compensation.

It is projected that the Carolina Panthers will receive a 2024 6th - round draft selection as well as a 2025 7th - round draft pick in return for sending Anderson to the desperate Arizona Cardinals. Hopefully he can add some stability for the Arizona Cardinals at least until they get back Marquis Brown later on this season.

DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins will ultimately make his 2022 - 2023 NFL season debut on Thursday Night Football this week when the Arizona Cardinals take on the New Orleans Saints. Hopkins was suspended for the first 6 - games of the year for violating the National Football League’s performance enhancing drug policy.

Look for DeAndre to make a huge splash or at least tie up opposing defenses for the rest of the year for the Arizona Cardinals after the 5 - time NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver had a down year last season at least statistically.

Hopkins in still considered to be one of the premier pass catchers in the National Football League, and the Arizona Cardinals have definitely have been missing his presence and production on the gridiron so far this NFL season.
