This was another great week of football games in the National Football League. Many of the great teams exhorted their dominance on weaker teams, and many teams that needed a win to stay alive were able to squeak out a victory. The remaining five weeks will be very interesting to watch as the playoff picture develops.

The Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts played a close game on Thursday Night Football. DeAndre Hopkins had a great game by scoring two touchdowns, and his teammate Will Fuller V was able to rack up 140 receiving yards on his 7 receptions. Deshaun Watson had an excellent performance by passing for 298 yards as well as 2 touchdown passes. The Colts came up just a yard short of a first down on a fourth down attempt late in the fourth quarter causing them to lose this football game. The AFC South is a division that is up for grabs so games like these are crucial for teams that are trying to make the 2019 – 2020 NFL postseason.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers outplayed the Atlanta Falcons on the road to get a win that most likely will not matter as both of these teams will probably not make the playoffs this season. Chris Godwin had a spectacular game as he picked up 184 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 7 receptions. Jameis Winston had a good game with 313 yards through the air as well as throwing 3 touchdown passes. The Buccaneers also got a score from a very unlikely place last Sunday. Defensive lineman Vita Vea caught a 1 yard touchdown pass from Winston to help Tampa Bay defeat the Atlanta Falcons.

The Buffalo Bills improved to 8 and 3 this season by defeating the struggling Denver Broncos with a final score of 20 – 3. The big story from this game was Frank Gore passing Barry Sanders to become third on the NFL’s career rushing yards list. Gore has now rushed for 15,289 yards over the course of his NFL career. Shaq Lawson had a strong performance on defense as he tallied two sacks against the Broncos. The Bills continue to quietly win games and remain dangerous in the landscape of the National Football League.

The Chicago Bears kept their season alive with a close to must win game that they pulled off the win in against the New York Giants from Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. Allen Robinson II had an amazing performance with 131 receiving yards and a touchdown off of his 6 catches. Mitchell Trubisky played better this week as he limited his turnovers and he played just well enough to win. The Bears have a huge game this Thursday on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions.

The Cincinnati Bengals remain the only winless team in the NFL as the Pittsburgh Steelers won this defensive battle of a game. Delvin Hodges took over for the struggling Mason Rudolph and he threw a 79-yard touchdown pass to help the Pittsburgh Steelers win their 6th game of the year. The Steelers have a big divisional match up with the Cleveland Browns this upcoming Sunday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Cleveland Browns absolutely destroyed the 2 win Miami Dolphins led by Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry. Mayfield put up big numbers with his 327 yards passing as well as three touchdowns. Landry caught 10 passes for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nick Chubb was outstanding on the rushing attack with 106 yards and a touchdown run. Cleveland remains to fight for their right to play in the NFL postseason this year after a very disappointing start to their season.

This was a close game that was won on a 33-yard field goal by the New Orleans Saints kicker, Wil Lutz, at the end of the contest. The Saints are well on their way to winning the NFC South division for the third consecutive season. Drew Brees had another fantastic performance as he put up 311 yards passing and 3 touchdowns to defeat the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers enjoyed a big game from DJ Moore as he went for 126 yards as well as 2 TD’s.

The New York Jets dominated the Oakland Raiders as they ended Oakland’s three game winning streak. Sam Darnold had a solid performance as he threw two touchdowns while running one in himself to go along with his 315 yards passing. The Raiders struggled to score during this game and Derek Carr was benched in the second half as he was not getting the job done last Sunday. Oakland will have to bounce back in a tough game vs the Chiefs in Kansas City this weekend.

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to struggle against quality opponents dropping this game to the Seattle Seahawks who are looking pretty good throughout the 2019 – 2020 NFL season. Rashaad Penny ran the ball well as he racked up 129 yards and a touchdown off of just 14 carries. Russell Wilson didn’t have an unbelievable game, but he played well enough to secure the win as the Seahawks improve to 9 and 2 this year. They have a big showdown on Monday Night Football next week against the Minnesota Vikings.

Derrick Henry was a huge part of the game with his rushing attack that accounted for 159 yards and a couple of touchdowns. A.J. Brown compiled 135 yards and a TD on only 4 receptions. The Tennessee Titans continue to roll quietly as they are fighting to earn a spot in the NFL postseason.

Tom Brady continued to remain frustrated with the Patriots inability to produce offensively, but non the less New England keeps on winning which is most important.

The San Francisco 49ers continue to impress on both sides of the ball as they destroyed the Green Bay Packers in front of a national audience on Sunday Night Football. Jimmy Garoppolo played great as he put up 253 yards and a pair of touchdown passes. George Kittle helped in that effort with his 6 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown as well. The Green Bay Packers are somewhat inconsistent and they hope to turn things around next week when they play the New York Giants.

The Baltimore Ravens will have their hands full this week when they face the San Francisco 49ers who are on a Super Bowl run with their record of 10 – 1 (best in NFL).
