Introduction

Miami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey requires Knee Surgery following Training Camp Injury

On Thursday, July 27th, 2023 the Miami Dolphins superstar veteran NFL cornerback, Jalen Ramsey, will now have to undergo a surgical procedure in order to repair the meniscus in his left knee, and Jalen is now expected to have to miss the beginning of the 2023 - 2024 NFL regular - season.

Ramsey's ACL did seem to be intact according to sources around the Miami Dolphins training camp, otherwise the lock down cornerback would have most likely had to miss the entire upcoming season of the National Football League, which is very good news for both the Miami Dolphins as well as Ramsey.

It was not immediately known for sure exactly how long Jalen will have to be completely sidelined and out of football action, but in accordance to one source that told Adam Schefter of ESPN Ramsey could possibly have to miss, "a few months," depending on how the surgery goes as well as the recovery from the surgery manifests.

Ramsey’s Social Media Post after the Injury

Jalen recently posted to his social media accounts that, "I’ll be back on that field stronger than ever… in due time! This SO minor for God’s child! I trust fully & know He got me! I’m forever grateful to worship His name! I know my brothers gone hold it down until I’m back tho! Appreciate the love & support! Time to get right!"

The Incident Leading to the Jalen Ramsey Knee Injury

Ramsey had to eventually leave practice on Thursday, July 27th, 2023 early following a devastating collision with his fellow teammate in the Miami Dolphins speedy star wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, and Jalen had to be carted off of the practice field and back to the Miami Dolphins’ locker room right after the accidental collision.

The present day 3-time NFL All - Pro selection managed to participate in a highly aggressive 11-on-11 drills during the Miami Dolphins’ 3rd - day of their training camp, but Ramsey seemed to appear to have gotten tangled up with Hill while playing the cornerback position in the Miami Dolphins’ defensive coverage of their first team offensive unit.

Both of these football players hit the ground after the collision, and Jalen was able to sit upright for just a matter of a few seconds prior to being able to stand back up to his feet on his own power. Ramsey attempted to walk off the injury for a minute or two before having to leave the field fortunately also under his own power.

The Miami Dolphins team athletic trainers and medical officials were inclined to take a serious look at Ramsey’s left knee for the remainder of practice, and Jalen was unable to continue practicing and he had to be carted back to the locker room following Thursday afternoon’s practice.

The Miami Dolphins had to ultimately trade a 3rd - round pick as well as their tight end in Hunter Long in order for the organization to acquire Jalen during this 2023 NFL offseason. That deal now pairs Ramsey with another NFL All - Pro cornerback, Xavien Howard.

The head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel, is expected to make comments on Ramsey's status when he speaks to the major sports media outlets on the morning of Friday, July 28th, 2023. Hopefully for Jalen Ramsey, Mike McDaniel, and the Miami Dolphins the severity of the left knee injury to Jalen is not all that serious, but we will all find out sometime soon.
