Introduction

Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers has Hairline Fracture in Fibula

On Friday, April 16th, 2021 the current manager of the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, Dave Roberts, spoke publicly regarding the status of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ superstar veteran outfielder / first baseman, Cody Bellinger. Bellinger has been out of the Dodger line – up since Monday, April 5th, 2021 due to what was originally diagnosed by doctors as a bruised calf, but upon further reviews of a recent scan it was apparent to the medical professionals that were assessing Cody’s lower body injury to his left leg that there was a hairline fracture in his left fibula.

This injury that Bellinger suffered occurred on Monday, April 5th, 2021 when the Oakland Athletics’ relief pitcher, Reymin Guduan, stepped on Cody’s left leg as the two of them raced to first base in the 9th inning of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ subsequent 10 to 3 win over the obviously outmatched Oakland Athletics. Bellinger ended up limping off of the ball field, but his initial tests did not reveal any structural damage to Cody’s lower body.

Manager of Los Angeles Dodgers Addresses Media

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ skipper, Dave Roberts, explained that the new development, "Hasn't really changed the course of his timetable," but Roberts did not want to speculate on Bellinger’s possible return date to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ line – up. I can say comfortably that it's not a day-to-day thing," Dave expressed to members of the sports media journalists prior to the first game of a weekend long series against the National League West divisional rivals in the San Diego Padres.

"We can kind of just put it on the backburner, let Cody do his rehab and join us hopefully soon." The sequence of Cody’s rehabilitation that includes hitting and throwing will not change won't due to the discovery of the hairline fracture to Bellinger’s fibula, and Roberts goes on to say, "He's just rehabbing daily and doing everything he can to join us as soon as possible."
