Murietta Hot Springs Review
Logic Puzzle
You have a three-liter stein and a seven-liter stein. You also have an unlimited supply of beer but no way of measuring it other than the two steins. How can you serve a customer exactly five liters of beer?
Murietta Hot Springs
Murietta Hot Springs is a developed hot spring resort located in Murietta, California. Murietta is a small town located between Los Angeles and San Diego along the I-15 highway.
I stayed in a nice suite on a Sunday to Tuesday in February, 2026. The cost of a room, which comes with access to the access to most of the facility, is about $250/day. The weather was warm and dry.Although I arrived about two hours before check-in time, they kindly let me check in early. It was a bit confusing finding my building, necessitating leaving the facility and reentering through another entrance.
The facility is divided into separate areas. I imagine most guests go for the day. At the time of this writing, the cost of a day pass is $99 Monday to Thursday and $119 Friday to Sunday. The majority of the facility is open to day guests. This area includes 25 naturally-heated hot pools, a cold pool, swimming pool, an adults-only bath house, café and a “mud beach.”
The bath house features two shallow pools for walking through, one hot and one cold. Based on signage, they encourage alternating between hot and cold water. In addition, the bath house has hot, warm and cold pools. Finally, there is a sauna, steam room and nice indoor and outdoor terraces.
There is a lake in the middle of the property, which is nice to look at, but they don’t allow swimming in it. The mud beach is located along the shore. Pots of mud are available for guests to rub all over their body. The mud is bentonite clay, which is said to be good for detoxifying the pours.Bentonite is found naturally in volcanic ash. Showers are available to wash it off. Nearby are several small pools about the size of a large bathtub which overlook the lake.
Overnight guests have several additional hot pools for their exclusive use. Your electronic room key is what opens the gate to get to this separate area. Finally, there are more hot pools for use of spa guests only, which I didn’t have access to.
The entire property is clean and well taken care of. I didn’t notice anything closed for repairs. The ambiance is peaceful and relaxing. I appreciate they allow children in only certain areas. What little interactions I had with staff were all successful and friendly.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. If you are looking for a quiet get-away from the LA or San Diego area, I recommend it, especially mid-week when it is less crowded and less expensive. In closing, here are some pictures from my visit.
