Wizard Of Odds Weekly Update March 21, 2019
A very important date is coming up -- the main ticket sale for Burning Man 2019. These tickets are very difficult to get and will sell out in about half an hour. The most you can buy in this sale is two tickets, plus one vehicle pass. On April 10 everybody will be trying to buy them as soon as the window opens. Getting through is a matter of luck. However, if you don't try and want to go, you'll end up spending about three times as much for a ticket, if you're fortunate enough to buy one at all.
Here are the hoops you have to jump through to get a ticket.
- Register for a Burning Man profile. This is easy and can be done anytime. Just go to burningman.org and fill out the form. Don't worry, they won't spam you.
- Between April 3 and April 5 you will have to register for the main sale. I'm not sure exactly how this is done, but imagine if you log into your Burner profile during those dates, it will be explained somewhere.
- On April 10 be at your computer or device at noon Pacific time on April 10 and try your best. I hear your chances will improve if you use multiple devices.
I imagine many of you reading this have no intention of going. However, if you know anybody who is planning on going (like me), they will owe you a huge favor if you procured tickets for them. Tickets in the main sale are $425 each and vehicle passes are $100. In the alternative pre-sale, tickets are $1,400.
In other news, I will be the guest on Gambling with an Edge by the time this newsletter comes out. Look for it at the Las Vegas Advisor.
