  • In Super Bowl V the Baltimore Colts defeated the Dallas Cowboys 16 to 13 in Miami, Florida.

  • In Super Bowl X the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Dallas Cowboys 21 to 17 in Miami, Florida.

January 19th, 1977

  • Ernie Banks is elected in to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

January 20th, 1980

  • In Super Bowl XIV at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Los Angeles Rams 31 to 19.

January 21st, 1922

  • The first slalom ski race run ever takes place in Mürren, Switzerland.

  • George Foreman TKO’s Joe Frazier in the second round to gain the heavyweight boxing title.
