Introduction

Atmosfera is an online betting software developer that provides live dealer services and has a focus on the Eastern European market, specifically Russia, Armenia, and Latvia. The company’s games are focused on table games, lottery draw style games, and roulette, which are common sights when it comes to the live casino area.

The company provides all of its games from studios, and the games are broadcast in crisp high-definition. The games can be played on desktop and mobile devices alike, and from what I’ve seen, the production values are pretty good. I consider Evolution to be the cream of the crop when it comes to production, and Atmosfera actually stacks up pretty well in comparison.

With a solid foundation of games, it’ll be interesting to see where Atmosfera goes in the future. The company can continue pumping out standard casino games as well as some unique games, I think we’re looking at a software developer that has some real promise.

Battleship

Battleship is based on the popular board game, which I am awsum at, I might add. Atmosfera plays the game on a 90-number board with six ships. The player wins according to how many balls it takes to sink various combinations of ships, all the ships, and all the ships except one ball.

For all the rules and analysis please see my page on Battleship. The bottom line is an expected return of only 74.25%. However, it takes about five minutes to play through a game, so would be a slow way to lose your money.

Bet on Poker

Atmosfera is one of a few providers offering Bet on Poker. This is a game in which a live dealer plays out four to nine hands of Texas Hold 'Em. The object is to bet on which position will win and what the winning hand will be.

All things considered, the odds offered by Atmosfera are pretty stingy. Most bets have a return of close to 88%, but I've seen them range from 75% to 94%. That doesn't include bets on longshots like a royal flush, which can have a return as low as 0.7%.

As an example, the following table shows the pays, probability of winning, and expected return of the winning hand in a nine-player game, before the first card is dealt. Note how most bets have a return of 88% to 90%, but the longshots offer terrible odds.

Keno

Atmosfera offers a keno game with the standard rules. The pay table is on the stingy side, with expected returns ranging from 82.14% to 86.08%.

Roulette

There are three ways to play roulette, as follows.

• Live roulette — This version is played with a real dealer on a single-zero wheel. The house edge is 2.70%.
• European Bingo Roulette — This is played by drawing a ball from an automated 37-ball hopper. The house edge is 2.70%.
• American Bingo Roulette — This is played by drawing a ball from an automated 38-ball hopper. The house edge is 5.26%.

Bingo

The bingo games is played by European rules, with 15-number cards and 90 balls. Each card has three rows of five numbers each. The player wins by covering entire rows or the whole card.

In this case, there are three ways to win. The first is to cover any one row within the first ten balls. A win pays 200. The probability of covering any one row within 10 balls is 0.000057. With three rows to win from, that makes the return from this jackpot feature 3 × 200 × 0.000057 = 0.0034403.

The second way to win is to cover a single line within 30 balls. The fewer balls needed to win, the greater the win. The following table shows the win, probability, and contribution to the return for any one line.

The lower right cell shows the return from any one line is 0.052190. With three lines, that is three ways to win, making the overall return from winning on one line (not including the jackpot) 3 × 0.0521290 = 0.156569.

The third way to win is to cover the entire card within 70 balls. The fewer balls needed to win, the greater the win. The following table shows the win, probability, and contribution to the return for any one line.

The lower right cell shows the return from this feature is 0.236601.

Combining all three ways to win, the overall return is 0.003440 + 0.156569 + 0.236601 = 0.396610.

An expected return of only 39.66% is extremely stingy! Enough to warrant a Wizard finger-wagging of shame.
