Barbut

Introduction

Barbut, also known as Casino Barbut, is a simple dice-based game. The closest thing I can compare it to is a place bet in craps. The game has had a placement at the Holland casino in Amsterdam and is played as a live dealer game by Lucky Streak, a provider of live games for Internet casinos.

Rules

  1. The game uses two six-sided dice.
  2. There are two bets, the Front and Back.
  3. In both cases, the dice are rolled until the bets are resolved. Note that the bets are opposites, thus they will both be resolved at the same time.
  4. The Front bet is resolved according to the roll:
    • 3-3, 5-5, 5-6 — Pays 1-1
    • 6-6 — Pays 1-2
    • 1,1, 2-2, 4-4, 1-2 — Loses
    • All other — Roll again
  5. The Back bet is resolved according to the roll:
    • 2-2, 4-4, 1-2 — Pays 1-1
    • 1-1 — Pays 1-2
    • 3-3, 5-5, 6-6, 5-6 — Loses
    • All other — Roll again
  6. The player may not take his bet down after making it.
