  • Both Henry Aaron and Frank Robinson get elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

  • Willard Dewveall of the Chicago Bears becomes the first player of the NFL to join the AFL.

  • James Naismith publishes the rules of Basketball in Triangle Magazine.
