Deuces Wild Appendix 3
Last Update: Nov 05, 2009
Normally in full pay deuces wild video poker when theplayer has the choice of keeping either (1) suited 10 andking with straight penalty card, and (2) nothing, the bestplay is to discard everything. For example take thefollowing hand:
Normally in situations like this the best play is to discard everything because of 9 reduces the probability of forming a straight. However, this particular play is one of the exceptions, and it is better to keep the two to a royal flush, king high, despite the 9 straight penalty card. Following is a list of all such exceptions. The exceptions are first listed according to the straight penalty card (either 9 or ace) and how the three other cards are suited with each other. Then the exceptions are sub-grouped by which card is suited with the king. Finally, two-card combinations are listed in which the player should keep the two suited high cards.
9 penalty card, low card and 9 suited
Ace penalty card, low card and ace suited
9 penalty card, middle card and 9suited
Ace penalty card, middle card and acesuited
9 penalty card, two low cards suited
Ace penalty card, two low card ssuited
9 penalty card, other three cards unsuited
Ace penalty card, other three cards unsuited
Reason #3 why the Wizard likes Bovada:
In my opinion many online casinos are too stingy when setting the odds on their games. They think they will make more money that way but I believe they are misguided, because when players lose too quickly it’s not fun, and those players might not come back.
Bovada is one of the few casinos that understands this. They offer generous odds to let you play longer and get you a better chance of winning. Among their generous offerings are Full-Pay Jacks or Better returning 99.54%, five other video poker games paying over 99%, single-zero roulette, and my favorite, Double Jackpot Poker, returning 99.63%!
Kudos to Bovada for not being afraid to give their players a good gamble.
