Analysis of 21 Bell Slot Machine
This appendix attempts to show how return for the21 Bell Slot Machine is calculated.
Table 1 shows the frequency of each symbol(s) on eachreel. Each stop is equally likely.
Table 2 shows the frequency of each symbol on each reel.
Table 3 shows the number of combinations of each payingcombination (probability combinations) and the expectedreturn for each paying combination over all possibleoutcomes (return combinations).
The bottom row of table 3 shows 1073 probability combinations and 7556 return combinations. With 20 stops on each reel the total combinations is 203=8000. So the probability of any win (hit frequency) is 1073/8000 =13.41%. The machine's expected return is 7556/8000 =94.45%.
Reason #3 why the Wizard likes Bovada:
In my opinion many online casinos are too stingy when setting the odds on their games. They think they will make more money that way but I believe they are misguided, because when players lose too quickly it’s not fun, and those players might not come back.
Bovada is one of the few casinos that understands this. They offer generous odds to let you play longer and get you a better chance of winning. Among their generous offerings are Full-Pay Jacks or Better returning 99.54%, five other video poker games paying over 99%, single-zero roulette, and my favorite, Double Jackpot Poker, returning 99.63%!
Kudos to Bovada for not being afraid to give their players a good gamble.
