Reason #3 why the Wizard likes Bovada:

Excellent Odds

In my opinion many online casinos are too stingy when setting the odds on their games. They think they will make more money that way but I believe they are misguided, because when players lose too quickly it’s not fun, and those players might not come back.

Bovada is one of the few casinos that understands this. They offer generous odds to let you play longer and get you a better chance of winning. Among their generous offerings are Full-Pay Jacks or Better returning 99.54%, six other video poker games paying over 99%, single-zero roulette, and my favorite, Pick ’em Poker, returning 99.95%!

Kudos to Bovada for not being afraid to give their players a good gamble.

This page outlines the games available at the Bovada casino. Players may play instantly on a Flash casino or by downloading their software. This review is based on the Flash casino. The same thing as Three Card Poker. Bovada follows the full pay rules. To be specific, the Ante bet has Ante bonuses of 1-4-5, for a house edge of 3.37%. The Pairplus pay table is 1-4-6-30-40, for a house edge of 2.32%.

Craps

Standard craps rules. Player may take 2X odds, or lay to win 2X odds, after a point, for a blended house edge of 0.61% on the pass, and 0.46% on the don't pass. Loose field, paying triple for a 12. Hop bets pay 15 and 30 to 1.

Let 'Em Ride

The same thing as Let it Ride. However, instead of pulling back bad bets, the player adds good bets. Mathematically, it is the same game. The standard 1-2-3-5-8-11-50-200-1000 pay table is followed for a house edge of 3.51%.

Baccarat

Standard baccarat rules are followed. The game uses six decks. Instead of the usual 8 to 1 win on a tie, Bovada pays 9 to 1, which lowers the house edge on the tie from 14.40% to 4.93%.

Pai Gow Poker

Standard pai gow poker rules are followed. The A-5 straight is the second highest. As usual online, the player never gets to bank. The house edge is 2.73%.

Vegas Three Card Rummy

This is an unusual game found only at Bovada and Internet casinos using Real Time Gaming or Cryptologic software. Please see my page on Vegas Three Card Rummy for all the rules. The house edge is 3.23%.

Caribbean Hold 'Em

The same game as Casino Hold 'Em. The usual 1-2-3-10-20-100 pay table is used, for a house edge of 2.16%.

The side bet follows the 75-100-500-10%-100% pay table. The expected return of the side bet is 41.15% plus 2.92% for each $10,000 in the meter. The break-even meter is $201,241.58.

Caribbean Stud Poker

Bovada uses the 1-2-3-4-5-7-20-50-200 pay table. This is the same as the standard U.S. pay table, except pays 200 for a royal flush, instead of 100. This lowers the house edge by 0.01% to 5.21%.

For more information, please see my page on Caribbean Stud Poker. The side bet follows the 75-100-500-10%-100% pay table. The expected return of the side bet is 41.15% plus 2.92% for each $10,000 in the meter. The break-even meter is $201,241.58.
