Rules

  1. Two ordinary six-sided dice are used, one red and one blue.
  2. The following types of bets are available:
    • Which die will be higher or a tie.
    • Winning number of each individual die as well as the combination of the two.
    • Odd or Even for each individual die as well as the sum of both dice.
    • Over or Under 3.5 for each individual die and over or under 3.5 to 9.5, by ones, for the sum of both dice.
  3. For bets that have a 50% chance of winning, the win is 1.9. Most pays are such that the return is 95% if it can be achieved while keeping the win one decimal place. The return is never below 93.75%. Wins are always on a "for one" basis.

Analysis

The following tables show the win, winning combinations out of 36, probability of winning, and the expected return for all available bets. A separate table is used for each bet category. Wins are always on a "for one" basis.

The following table shows my analysis of the bets on the winning die or on a tie. The right column shows the best odds are on a tie at a return of 95%.

Winning Die and Tie

Bet Pays Combinations Probability Return
Red 2.25 15 0.416667 0.937500
Blue 2.25 15 0.416667 0.937500
Tie 5.7 6 0.166667 0.950000

Bets are available on the six possible outcomes for both the Red and Blue dice as well as the combination between the two. To win the combination bet, the player must choose the specific outcome for both dice, for example Red 5 and Blue 3. The following table shows my analysis of all three types of bets in this category. The right column shows the best odds are on the specific outcome of a single die at a return of 95%.
