Basic Strategy for Cryptologic blackjack

Last update: February 13, 2000

The following table displays the basic strategy for Cryptologic casinos. This chart may also be used correctly for Boss Media multi-player blackjack. Cryptologic rules are as follows:

  • Eight decks
  • Dealer stands on soft 17
  • Double on any first two cards
  • Double after a split
  • No resplitting
  • U.S. hole card rule
  • Player may not draw to split aces

To use the basic strategy look up your hand along the left vertical edge and the dealer's up card along the top. In both cases an A stands for ace. From top to bottom are the hard totals, soft totals, and splittable hands. In the body of the chart are color coded cells that indicate the best play: H=hit, S=stand, D=double, P=split.

Note: If the table calls for doubling and the player has 3 or more cards then the player should hit soft 17 or less and stand on soft 18.
