Introduction

Dealer Odds in Blackjack under U.S. Rules

The following tables show the probability of the dealer forming any given final hand according to the dealer's up-card. The tables assume the dealer already checked for, and did not have, blackjack. There are 16 total tables, for 1 to 8 decks and whether or not the dealer stands or hits on soft 17. For dealer probabilities before the dealer checks for blackjack please see Dealer Odds in Blackjack under European Rules.

Some blackjack variants have a rule where if the dealer draws to 22 points, all standing bets push. There are also side bets that pay according to the final number of points in a dealer busted hand. The following two tables help to analyze such games and side bets by showing the probability each final number of dealer points by the number of decks. The first table is when the dealer hits a soft 17.
