Texas Bullseye

Introduction

Texas Bullseye is a blackjack variant played at a poker casino near Houston. It removes all the 10-point cards from each deck and replaces them with 13 Bullseye cards, each worth 10 points.

Rules

Following are the rules.

  1. Six decks
  2. Decks have all standard 10-point cards removed and replaced with 13 Bullseye cards.
  3. Bullseye cards are worth 10 points.
  4. Blackjack pays 3-2
  5. Dealer peeks for blackjack
  6. Dealer hits soft 17
  7. Double after split allowed
  8. Surrender not allowed
  9. Re-splitting aces not allowed
  10. $1.30 fee per hand to play.
  11. Minimum bet = $10, Maximum bet = $200

Strategy

The following is my basic strategy. It is based on an infinite-deck model.

Key:

  • H = Hit
  • S = Stand
  • D = Double
  • P = Split

Analysis

I show before the $1.30 fee to play is considered, the house edge is 1.78%.

Considering the $1.30 fee to play, for a $10 bet the house edge is 14.78% relative to the bet only and 13.08% relative to the bet plus fee.

Based on a $200 bet, the house edge is 2.43% elative to the bet only and 2.41% relative to the bet plus fee.
