Big Times Draw Poker

Big Times Draw Poker is a video poker variant I noticed at the Red Rock and Wynn in May 2008. For one to five coins bet, the game plays like ordinary video poker. For six to ten coins bet the win, if any, will be multiplied according to the highest card in the player's hand on the deal, the lower the better. For purposes of the multiplier, aces are low. At both properties, base games were Bonus Poker, Double Double Bonus Poker, and Deuces Wild. It could be played on 3-play and 5-play modes.

In this hand I received the highest card on the draw was a 9 (remember aces count as low). I bet 10 coins in double double bonus, which earned me a 3x multiplier.

At the Red Rock the game offered a 6/5 pay table in Bonus Poker at 5-cent and 10-cent denominations, and 7/5 at at 25-cents, 50-cents, and $1. All the tables for Bonus Poker below are based on the 7/5 pay table. The table directly below shows the multipliers for 7/5 Bonus Poker.

The table will apply for any number of coins bet from 5 to 10, because the multiplier is guaranteed after the deal. The strategy will be exactly the same for 6 to 10 coins bet as the conventional strategy for 5 coins.

Deuces Wild

The deuces wild pay tables offered are unconventional, featuring an extra line item for four deuces plus an ace. Unlike Bonus Deuces, which does have this line item, all five of a kinds pay the same. At the Red Rock the game offers two different pay tables. At 5-cent and 10-cent denominations, the pay table is 800-400-200-20-10-8-4-4-3-2-1. At 25-cents, 50-cents, and $1 the 16/13 pay table is as shown two tables below. The table directly below shows the multipliers for 16/13 Deuces Wild.
