WGS Technology Software & 0 Online Casinos Reviewed

Introduction

WGS Technology is a mysterious company that rose up from the ashes of the former Vegas Technology software which had already risen from the ashes of Odds On software. The software looks the same as the old Odds On & Vegas Tech software, although the selection of games is smaller. WGS Technology is also one of the few software providers to be friendly to U.S. players.

The usual rules are followed. Eight decks are used. The following table shows the house edge according to the bet made.

Classic Blackjack

There are no fewer than seven sets of blackjack rules. Why Internet casinos have to offer so many, I have no idea. Here they are:

WGS Technology Blackjack Games

Bet Combinations Probability House
Edge
Perfect Pairs 4 Stand Yes Any two Yes 0.36%
Vegas Downtown 2 Hit Yes Any two Yes 0.40%
Vegas Strip 6 Stand Yes Any two Yes 0.41%
Atlantic City 8 Stand Yes Any two Yes 0.44%
Classic 4 Stand No 9 to 11 No 0.57%
Progressive 4 Stand No 9 to 11 No 0.57%
Blackjack ? Stand No 9 to 11 No ?

The rule do not say how many decks are used in the standard "blackjack" game. Unless you want to take your chances with that, I recommend going with the lowest house edge on the Perfect Pairs table. Do not be tempted to make the side bet.

There is a side bet on the Progressive Blackjack game. The following table shows the side bet pay table based on the $13,559 meter on September 27, 2002.

Progressive Blackjack

Hand Permutations Probability Pays Return
4 red/black aces 3360 0.000002 13559 0.025056

no aces 1678389120 0.923077 0 0
Total 1818254880 1 0 0.322492

The lower right cell shows a return of 32.25%, or a house edge of 67.75%! For the meter to have no house edge it would need to reach $180,209.81. On January 5, 2014, at the Lincoln Casino it was at $52,119.

Craps

craps.png
Craps

The player may not bet more than his original wager either buying or laying the odds. The combined house edge on the pass side is 0.85% and on the don't pass side is 0.82%. Total winnings always get rounded down to the next dollar so be sure to bet in correct increments.

There are win bets, which work and pay the same way as place bets. To bet against a place number the player can make a "lose bet." These pay 2-5 on the 4 and 10, 4-7 on the 5 and 9, and 4-5 on the 6 and 8. The house on these bets is 6.67%, 5.71%, and 1.82% respectively.

The proposition bets pay the same bad odds as conventional craps.

Keno

The player can play video poker one of four ways:

  • Single line
  • Four line
  • Ten line
  • Bump it Up

The games are pretty traditional and the pay table range from pretty competitive to pretty insulting. So pick your game carefully.

Bump it Up is the same thing as Multi-Strike Poker. It is available in Jacks or Better and Joker Poker only. They don't indicate the Free Ride probabilities, so the returns for that game are not quantifiable.
