Introduction

Ace Gaming is an online betting software developer that originally was known as Ace23 and got into the industry by developing a sportsbetting platform. The company has expanded its gaming library over the years to include lottery, bingo, slots, and table games. Unfortunately, the quality of most of the games is quite poor, and a lack of company information makes Ace Gaming not a very desirable gaming company to play with.

Blackjack Side Bet

Basic Strategy Card

Ace Gaming has four blackjack tables. The multi-deck game has a rather high house edge at 0.80%, which is quite high for an Internet casino. Your odds are much better at the single-deck table. There they restrict doubling to 9 to 11, but the trade-off is worth it. The house edge in the single-deck game is 0.35%. There are three spots in the single-deck game and five for multi-deck.

Both tables also have a version with five to six side bets. For whatever reason, they are the exact same side bets offered by Pala Interactive software. Here is a list:

My advice is to play the single-deck without the side bets to tempt you. I'm including a basic strategy screenshot for the single-deck game. Click on it for a larger version.

The following table shows the Blackjack games available in alphabetical order.

Casino War

War

Ace Gaming calls their Casino War game just "War." They follow the stingy rule of not paying a bonus for a tie after a tie. Assuming six decks, the house edge is 2.88%.

The Tie bet pays the usual stingy 10 to 1, for a house edge of 18.65%.

Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow Poker

Lucky 8's Pai Gow Poker

There are two pai gow poker games, different only by a side bet. The pai gow poker rules are the usual for an Internet casino -- 5% commission and no player banking. That results in a house edge of 2.72%.

There are buttons for setting the hand by the house way and to order by rank or suit. The game nicely warns you if you foul your hand.

The side bet is called Lucky 8's and carries a house edge of 45.15% (ouch!).

Baccarat

Baccarat

Mini Baccarat

Ace Gaming did a their best work on their baccarat game, in my opinion. It features the ability to cut the cards, revealing the cards by hand, and a traditional scorecard for the history of the shoe. If you don't need all that fancy stuff, then mini baccarat is fast and clean.

The rules and odds are standard. Eight decks are used and the tie pays the usual stingy 8 to 1.

Craps

Craps

I've said for years that craps is a hard game to program. My own trainer took months to develop and still took years to get the bugs out. My sympathies lay (or is it lie?) with whoever Ace Gaming delegated to make it. Whoever it is, they evidently don't understand the game. Although the table said "3x odds" I was often limited to 1x, or none at all. The puck normally used to identify the point is placed in no-mans land. And do they really need both place and buy bets. This game just isn't ready to be played. Except maybe an advantage player out there will find a bug in it. For now, it needs to be sent back to the kitchen.

Keno

Keno

Shockwave Keno

Ace Gaming has two keno games — the convention one and Shockwave. Below is the pay table for conventional keno. The returns are shown in the bottom row. As you can see, the greatest return is at 92.96% for the pick 3.

The other keno game is called Shockwave. It multiplies all wins by four if the first ball drawn is a catch. In other words, the same thing as Power Keno, except the multiplier is based on the first ball drawn, not the last one. The following table shows the pay table and returns in the bottom row. As you can see, the returns are not as high as for conventional keno. If you must play, the greatest return is 90.57% on the pick 2.

Video Poker

Double Barrel

Jacks or Better

Joker Wild

Deuces Wild

There are four video games to choose from. The player can play 1, 3, 5, 10, or 50 hands and bet 1 to 5 coins per hand. They change the names of a couple of the games. What is usually called Double Double Bonus they call Double Barrel. Also, what is usually called Joker Poker they call Wild Joker.

As the table shows, the greatest return is 97.32% for Double Barrel. The equates to a house edge of 2.68%, which is rather high for video poker.

The following table shows the Video Poker games available in alphabetical order.

Three Card Poker

Triple Card

Ace Gaming calls their Three Card Poker game "Triple Card Poker." They follow the standard 1-4-5 Ante Bonus pay table for a house edge of 3.37%. The Pairplus bet follows the 1-4-6-25-40 pay table for a house edge of 3.49%.

Slot machines

Cross Country Slot

Freak Show

Conspiracy Slot

Cross Country Reels

Bar Room Blast

I can't give many points of Ace Gaming's slot machine selection. The design, graphics, and sound are all dated and poor. No information provided about the theoretical return percentages either.

Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Poker

The Caribbean Stud Poker game follows the land casino standard 1-2-3-4-5-7-20-50-100 pay table for a house edge of 5.22%. The progressive side bet follows the $50-$100-$500-10%-100% pay table. That return 36.24% plus 2.92% for each $10,000 in the meter. The side bet turns positive at $218,045.79.

Let it Ride

Triple Ride Poker

Ace Gaming titles their Let it Ride game "Triple Ride Poker." The standard 1-2-3-5-8-11-200-1000 paytable is used for a house edge of 3.51%. The progressive side bet is the same as in Caribbean Stud Poker.

Red Dog

Red Dog

Great, another software provider offering Red Dog, a table game that died in the land casinos 30 years ago. In this case, the standard rules are followed. Assuming six decks, which I don't know, the house edge is 2.80%.

Conclusion

After analyzing the software from Ace Gaming, I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s a reason not too many operators use the software: it’s not very good. If you play any games, you can expect lower than normal odds and less than impressive quality.
