Let it Ride Appendix

Appendix 3

Last update: September 7, 2002

The Royal Swazi casino in Swaziland, Africa, uses a different pay table for Let it Ride as follows.

Isle of Capri Payoff Table
Hand Payoff
Royal flush 250 to 1
Straight flush 50 to 1
Four of a kind 25 to 1
Full house 12 to 1
Flush 10 to 1
Straight 8 to 1
Three of a kind 3 to 1
Two pair 2 to 1
Tens or better 1 to 1

There are two strategy adjustments relative to the U.S. strategy as follows:

  • With 3 cards raise on unsuited 10/jack/queen
  • With 4 cards raise on 4 to an outside straight with 2 or more high cards

With this pay table and strategy adjustments the house edge is 2.96%. If the U.S. strategy were followed the house edge would be 3.03%.

The side bet at the Royal Swazi costs $5 and is progressive.

Royal Swazi Side Bet
Hand Pays
Royal flush 100% of meter
Straight flush 10% of meter
Four of a kind $2500
Full house $500
Flush $250
Straight $125
Three of a kind $0
Two pair $0

The meter starts over at $20,000. The rate of return is 46.05% plus 0.5848% for each $10,000 in the meter. It would take a meter of $922,474 for the side bet to be a break even bet.
